It was a slugfest. Hayfield can HIT. I saw some pretty good curveballs get turned around hard. On a hot humid day No. 20 from Hayfield hit a shot out to dead center 400'+, and Myles Schipp hit a HR about 370' out to RF. FC played serious defense against a team that could really hit. If they hadn't it could have been ugly for FC. Hayfield made some mental mistakes in the field and it every time they did, FC took advantage of the situation. Example, a bunt with 1B coming in and noone rotating to cover first. But mostly FC took control with good defense and hot bats up and down the lineup.

Hold on... I got lots of respect for the beach teams but you have two teams traveling from Northern VA to W & M this weekend who could easily reach the finals as well, either one at this point..

OHS is young but determined to prove they belong and they don't quit.. I only worry about their pitching for Friday.. they get thru that and you will see an outstanding pitcher on Saturday.. Stonewall is being overlooked due to their early season record but they have their top 2 pitchers back and they have brought them to W & M..

Its possible that we end up with an all Cedar Run final as both teams are from the same district, but they both need to bring their A+ games this weekend to accomplish this.

I would say this tournament is wide-open this year with no team as the dominate favorite.

Good luck to all teams left in the tourney.
