3 teens hurt in accident
These boys are lucky to be alive. One is the senior RF for our HS team, another is a player on our summer team. The accident happened Sunday evening. Two were thrown from the car; one of them had a gash in his leg that required surgery. He was released yesterday and will be OK. The one wearing a seat belt had to be pulled from the car before it caught on fire. But he walked away.
Our RF is still in the ICU with two broken femurs and a shattered pelvis. His spleen and part of his large intestine were removed. He's had 3 surgeries since Sunday, and will have another tomorrow, expecting several more before the ordeal is over. But his vitals are good and he is fighting. He's expected to be in the hospital for at least 6 weeks, and will probably miss his graduation, but he will most likely survive. Two of our baseball moms work at the hospital and are keeping a close eye on him and sending regular reports.
