Tuesday night. Ohio State @ West Virginia....game time temp 34 degrees. The game was a 6:30pm start, so I'm guessing it got colder as it went on. WVU pitcher throws complete game....145 pitches. WV was up 4-1 after 3...and that's how it ended. Pitcher had 14K's and 2 walks...so obviously he was on his game...but even at that 145 pitches in that weather seems kind of a stretch. FYI....the pitcher is now 1-0. Before last night, he had never started a game and had made 10 appearances for a grand total of 6 innings.

College, no problem and the weather has nothing to do with it. If you're warmed up then no problem - regardless of the temperature. The pitcher is usually the warmest person out there. My only question is how many innings has this guy thrown this year prior to his first start. For his first start I would probably have had a limit of 80-100, but as long as he gets enough rest 145 shouldn't be a problem.

That's part of my point...according to the WVU stats that include yesterday he had made 10 appearances for a total of 6 innings before last night.
