First - WOW what a game with great pitching, great defense and timely hitting. If you looked up the word baseball game on dictionary.com you will find a video of this game.

Second - found another problem with the stadium. Something has been nagging in the back of my head that there was something different / wrong with the games this year. Granted I didn't watch all of them but something was just.....off. Then it hit me.

The new stadium doesn't have the net over the stands where the ball comes back down and the ball girls have to make plays.

In years past at Rosenblatt there have been some great plays made by the girls and some that were.....not.....so.....let's say great. The stands would either cheer their approval for a great play or let them know they missed one they should have got.

Hopefully next year they can bring back the net just for the CWS.

Don't worry coach. Those girls have moved on. One even made it to the minors. It won't be long before she gets called up.

I wonder if that will ever continue. None of that this year, some coaches complained it was very much a distraction (dugout interviews), didn't like the camara's showing negative stuff from the dugout as well.

Coach is right, I too was wondering what was missing.

Another really big issue I hear is the late after noon sun factor, for everyone.

Fabulous game last night, one of the best I can remember, two teams from the toughest conference battling it out for the championship, how ironic is that!

While I am tempted, I will not post the picture of my (then) 15-year old son with her at the 2008 CWS.

BTW, I had a chance to meet her briefly, right by the dugout as I was a team photographer for Stanford at the 2008 series...with older son playing (what a thrill on both counts! Big Grin). I will tell you that she is an incredibly nice person with a very professional demeanor. She graciously made time to talk with a young lady who came down and wanted to talk about a career in journalism.

I was impressed and am definitely a fan.

Can you crop him out and then post????????

I'm just kidding.

I think the new girl (Jenn Brown???) has done a great job and is pretty nice to look at as well. I was never a fan of the dugout interviews and all that. Do that after the game or before the game but never during the game.
