Finally baseball is almost here. Actually my son's high school team begins their colt league play next Tuesday, but he won't be able to play. He and several starters will be at football camp Monday through Thursday. Our tournament begins on Thursday and they won't be back in time to play on that day. My son is the starting catcher and the two backups are going to football camp too.
I am excited but very nervous. His coach has designated him the starting varsity catcher(he will begin his freshman year this fall). He will be on the field with a team of mostly seniors. He also will pitch for the JV team on Monday night games. That way he will have time to rest his arm for playing catcher at varsity tournaments on the weekends. It is time to "grow up" as his coach says. His football coach has told him that he is the #3 quarterback on the high school football team, but with hard work he could move up. So much responsibility for a 14 year old. Any words of wisdom from the moms?
