No, I think the only thing unfortunate is the fact he hasn't been told the issue is over and he is banned from coaching again in Hillsborough County.

After money issues at Plant, steroid and recruiting issues at Hillsborough, isn't enough enough?

There are too many good coaches on the up and up waiting for jobs that would do an equal job given the talent assembled there.

With regards to the recent recruiting issue. If an asst coach was involved, then the head coach was involved, regardless. He must police his people as any employer must police their employees. He is far from blameless here.

How can you be blameless if you publish in a recruiters guide featuring your two new players who are playing for you during the summer and are "listed" as playing at your school?

It's time to put this issue to bed, clean house, and start new.

I think Kenny White would do well there and bring respectability back to that school.

White is an excellent person, teacher, and coach.

Russo doesn't need to "get out of the way". He already is. He's been relieved of his position and there is no intention of the principal or school board to give it back or a valid reason for him to get it back.

So far there is an ongoing calculated effort to have his asst coach take the fall for him. Unfortunately, every boss must be accountable for their employees actions or pay the price themselves. He obviously didn't police his assistants if this is indeed the case. Therefore he is still ultimately responsible. If this is the reason for him to be reinstated then the message sent is to let your assistants do your recruiting so you can be shielded from any penalty. Won't happen.

He signed his East Cobb roster this summer himself with two potential transfers on it...and approved a book detailing each player's profile in which it states they both were from HHS. They had not yet set foot on the campus as a student for the 2006-2007 school year. Had they done so before the last day of the prior year, not an issue. But since they both were enrolled at their previous school the entire year, they played for the summer team of the coach at their school of enrollment for this year. That is a clear violation of recruiting policy.

Kenny White will have no challenging issues other than wiping clean the previous coache's mess.
