Does anyone know if there are are any Unsigned Senior Showcases coming up (particularly in the Midwest)?

I've got an 06 MI with plenty of D3, NAIA interest, but still hoping for higher level of competition in college.

Has time ran out for 06's?

Also, is there much recruiting action during the summer after graduation in the U18 travel
summer ball tournaments? Or is that almost exclusively for the upcoming seniors (17s)?
Thanks!

Son is a 2B. BA=.500 and k/ab = 0.07 All League First Team as Jr. 3 year letter-man.

His 2005(before senior year) summer coach took them to good tournaments, but didn't turn in rosters for the college scouts. ????
Changing teams for 2006 (after sr. year season).

He may be best suited for D3, but the over-recruiting we see there seems undesirable. 20 - 30 incoming freshmen seem to be the norm. Am I right about this?

You are correct about D3 rosters. They usually have a lot more players on the roster than normal. A lot of that is due to no athletic scholarships being offered at that level, so they get many more athletes out for the team that are in school for other reasons (music, academics, etc.). In my experience, they sort of mass-recruit at that level.

I would look into some NAIA schools. NAIA schools are equal to NCAA Div. II in many aspects. The big one being scholarship offerings.
Thanks Catching Coach...

That's what we thought. He is presently considering attending a D1 with no baseball expectations (which called today to say that they are done with 06 recruiting, maybe walk on)
or a mid-level D3 and working his way up.

He's looked at a couple NAIAs in our state, but they were not a good fit academically. He has had NAIA offers, but he/I could not image spending 4 years at either institution.

This goes to say that the student-athlete has to keep all of the other aspects in mind when choosing a college.

Thank you for your insight. I appreciate it.
