My son will be attending the early November Showball academic showcase in Florida. He's a 2020 PO. Any tips or advice (about the event, about where to eat lunch nearby, whatever)? I have never been in or around Bradenton. Son has been to Headfirst in NY (a great experience), but never to Showball.
Based on a prior thread's recommendation, I did get Showball to agree to schedule Jr. to pitch back-to-back for his 2 games on Day 2, to avoid having him throw 40 pitches, then sit around for a couple of hours before throwing 40 more. That advice was golden.
A couple of specific questions: Can anyone tell me roughly how many pitches in the Day 1 bullpen session? Do the coaches dictate what pitches they want to see, or is it up to the player?
