Take a look at the bracket. You've got 8 of the top nationally ranked teams and 3 Honorable Mentions and 2 others have won championships at Cooperstown. Looks like pretty stiff competition to me.
Just got back. We went 2-1 in pool play and lost the first game to the OTC Bearcats. Not bad for a local team. To Brag a Little: My son pitched 8 innings in three games and had 18 strikeouts, 2 walks, and 2 hits. Was clocked Friday night at 83 mph.
Legit. Their shortstop may be better than any high school short stop in Northeast Tennessee. He was clocked this weekend at 87 mph according to one gun. I did not see it but it looked reasonable. He hit a homerun 400+
I have never seen the Redwings play but I have seen one of their players in several tournaments. Just out of curiosity do they have any regular sized boys on that team or are they all of the early maturing variety?
Most of them are not that big. The biggest is probably 6'2". They just do not make mistakes and thrive off of your mistakes. They are meticulious when it comes to everything.
Last night while flipping through the channels I came across the 13u Triple Crown championship game. The SoCal Redwings were playing another southern California team. It's harder on TV to see how good a team is. The Redwings won 11-0. In checking the Triple Crown website I saw that they mercied every team they played. They looked very business like. I guess they have lost only 1 game all year. The one the thing that was a bit surprising to me was after winning there was very minimal celebrating by the boys. I guess they are so accustomed to winning that it didn't appear to be a big deal to them. You see more celebrating between innings of a college softball game when all the girls give each other a high five.
I know the Redwings and a lot of other good teams are playing in the Elite 24. Is there a website that tracks the progress of that tournament?
