We are heading down to the Metro East area for a hand full of games next week. I know there has been really bad flooding down there. What are the fields like? I've seen a few games in that area have been played. Thanks.
I think the fields should be ok. Atleast the chance will be available for you guys to play a bunch of games. Here in the Crystal Lake area we may have to turn the fields into a hockey rink for a few more weeks. This snow is unbelievable.
How do rain outs and snow outs work at the HS level? IF they are non-conference do they even bother making them up? I know Br. Rice was supposed to play Lyons today. Lyons has a few decent pitchers that could have given that Rice team some fits. It's one team that would have a chance to give Rice a run for their money but now that it's snowed out are the chances of it being made up remote at best?
It's about 35 degrees here in Peoria, but they're playing in Bartonville. Limestone beat Machesney Park Harlem 3-0 this morning on a combined two-hitter by juniors Seth Schwindenhammer and Tyler Christiansen.
Limestone faces Moline at 4 p.m. Looking forward to seeing the Hood kid try his hand in center. I've always felt that might be the best place for him.
Waterloo played two today against New Athens. The infield was in pretty decent shape. In front of the 3rd base dugout was a mess and the left field corner was a mess. That's what happens when you get 7 inches of rain in a couple days!
Was a cold 5 hours of baseball today and quite ugly too
That's good news. We were lucky enough to get one in Thursday and we're very lucky to be heading down south. Hopefully we'll get a few in down there and it will be 70 and sunny when we come back after break!
