Appy State has a new (recent) baseball facility that sits atop a bluff on a very pretty college campus in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
It can be cold to very cold for home games early in the season.
The baseball program is not fully funded, with regards to scholarships available. This tends to make being competitive with the upper level of the Southern Conference difficult.
I had the opportunity to chat a while with the athletic director last season. He is a very knowledgeable baseball person. He says all the right things about moving the program forward and getting better each year.
Last years record 14-36. For a look at the Appy State statistics from last season follow this link.
