Misinformed rat eh----please learn to read sir---what I said is the ball was separate from the glove and you tag with the glove it is not an out--both hands together with the ball and glove as "one" is a tag---
where is jawja anyway---do they play baseball there?
cccsdad,
You stated that you were officiating a game and made an out call when the bare hand holding the ball was pressed against the glove at the time of the tag.
What was the reaction on the field when you made the call? Did the tagged player protest? Did the offensive coach question the call?
You only made mention of the fact that you questioned yourself in making the call.
I'd be interested to know if anyone else connected with the game made any mention of it.

The coach argued that the fielder didn't tag the runner. He was refering to contact being made though. He did not argue any specifics regarding how the tag was applied.
I figured as much.
Even though it doesn't meet the definition, I've never heard anyone question it on the field as a legit tag.
