Are the Cardinals in the playoffs? I know this is a dead horse but I get hacked off at certain things just like some of you other posters do for you teams. When Bud Selig has to call an organization and apologize because their fans will have to watch a game at 10:00 - 1:00 in the morning because that's what they need to do for t.v. ratings then... Hell you lost half of the country or more. Who's the dumb sh.. who thought of that. This following scheduling at 1:00 in the afternoon when everyone is at work. This after knowing that the Astros and Braves will play 2 games before another Cardinal - Padres game and both will be prime time. Well, I get pi.... off.

To add insult of injury, did anyone see ESPN yesterday when they were doing their pregame stuff prior to the Astro's game? They covered the 3 major games either being played or the day before's games. With approximately 2 minutes left in the show, one of the clowns says, "Do you think we need to cover anything about the Cardinal's game tonight?" The ANSWER from the other clown, "NO." The first clowns then says, well we have to Morris is pitching tonight and the Cardinals should wrap that one up. WELL THAT WAS IT.

Further insult to injury, in the St. Louis Post Dispatch this past week, ESPN was called out on their coverage of the Cardinals this year. The answer, "When you've sewn up your division by April, you aren't news."

Further insult to injury. During the Astro's game, the discuss on MVP starts. Pujos is referred to as "the other guy." Not one time is his name mentioned. (Along with Derrick Lee's I might add.) WHAT YOU CAN'T EVEN THINK OF HIS NAME?

SEE WHAT HAVING ME STAY UP TILL 1:00 IN THE MORNING DOES TO ME! MAKES ME CRABBY!!!

Chill out, like if you really do think about it the comments made by ESPN about the coverage of the Cards/PAdres game is fine, EVERYONE in the world knew that the Padres never stood a chance against them, so they'd be beating a dead horse by dragging out even more comments, like yes you obv would love to hear things about your team but when you murder a team that badly to start off the series it just prooved to everyone that the Padres didn't belong there.

The same goes with the news papers and the comment about how they aren't the news. It's true look at any teams coverage if they've ran away with the Division, the Whitesox wouldbe in the same boat if they didn't loose that huge lead they had over the tribe. Another example is the Braves all throughout their divisional title streak, they've had it rapped up manya time before the all-star break and there's not a lot of coverage, except when they do acutally clinch the title then everything falls by the wayside.

Now the whole not addressing Pujols or Lee is a pain, I'll give you that

Yes it is painful for a fan like yourself, but c'mon chill out. Just wait till the NLCS starts up then the news coverage and commentary will improve.

I stand by my comment....."they didn't have to face Oswalt & Clemens in the last two games."

What a game tonight. WOW!!

A good game and heatbreaking at the same time!
I had been holding my daughters toy Brother Bear ( a McDonald's toy) since the sixth inning, I put it down in the ninth and look what happens!

SO close! David F&%#*ng Eckstein! He's worse than a mosquito!

Pujols is the man! And yet some on this board would still take Bonds in his first 5 years than Albert, Hogwash!
Glove Man:

He may be David F&%96#*ng Eckstein to you but he is an absolute hero to all of the small,non-projectible players out there that have always heard that 'size doesn't matter in baseball' when in fact it REALLY does matter. Your nemesis, God bless him, is proof that size shouldn't matter.

This guy gets the job done consistently. I can tell from your post that you regard him as a pest but you also respect him. That's good because he has earned and deserves that repect.

Should my beloved White Sox face the Cards I'm going to wish that we win the series, of course, but I'll still be rooting for that 'pesky mosquito' to do well.

This might seem contradictory but it really isn't...
GO ECKSTEIN!!! GO WHITE SOX!!!

They're both good for the game.
JT:

Thanks for your comments about Eckstein. Concerning 'Jewish All-American'...he isn't Jewish or he isn't All-American or he isn't both. Please enlighten me!

Your Astro's have the W/L advantage but considering how that game ended last night I'd have to give the momentum to the Cards. The Astro's are going to have to work all that harder to bring the pennant home to Houston.

Although Biggio has had a longer career and is indeed held in high esteme, I feel the same way about Biggio that you feel about Eck. I said more than one expletive last night when he came up.
I wonder if FOX is going to eat crow after announcing (and with the $1,000) the Player of the Game (and it was not Pujols!)

Has anyone heard a peep from FOX yet?

Regards
Bear

ps. I remember as if it was yesterday, when Teddy Ballgame gave Mike Epstein his nickname!
Epstein carried it with him to LA and the rest of his career. It was amusing to all at the time. With the times a changing, it's not anymore!

ps. Anybody else rooting for Game 7?
