MLB will be implementing a code of conduct for fans in 2018:

Earlier this month we had Umpires wearing white wrist bands to protest "escalating verbal attacks" from players:

Are these new issues, or old issues?

I'd say old issues. Since baseball games and racism have been around.

I looked at the fan lifetime ban of a guy at Fenway. I sure as hell hope there was evidence or at least multiple witnesses of the exchange. Otherwise, a mean-spirited person could just accuse someone of something and boom--they're banned for life. I'd say litigation would sort that out, but at a cost. Perhaps the MLB-wide code of conduct will cover such happenings?

I don't see how anyone could be banned for life. It's not as if they do facial scanning when fans enter the park. The only way a name would come up is with a credit or debit card. All it would take to get around it is a prepaid debit card, cash or someone else purchasing the tickets.

Bank on it.  Not only is facial recognition everywhere coming, so are the drones.  We are not so far away from being able track everyone 24/7 and know what the communicate.  These policies are the next step - once in place they need to be enforced most likely under the guise of "security".

No one will need to testify - the data will be enough.  Then you can worry about who edits the tape.

Banned from the park will be the least of someone's problems, when he's hauled into Federal court for a hate crime civil rights violation.

I'm guessing he is just paying attention to what is going on around him.

There are states where the police scan your license plate into an data base just because you drive by them.

No - one of the most optimistic people ever.  That doesn't mean I ignore what is coming.   For example recognizing that Iran will eventually get nuclear weapons but pretending like it won't happen because we have a deal with them  is not optimism - it is foolish.   Same as 1994 when we had a deal with North Korea or 1936 when England had a deal with Germany.  Eventually you have to deal with reality and hope that the future brings the best result.

Did anyone see the movie Gattaca?  One of my favorite.

After clicking on the Wiki page, looking up Carnivore, Green Lantern and other search terms related to government surveillance,  my screen went black, and then this popped up.  Funny thing, I run MAC OS X on my computer.
