Son received invitation to a tryout for Area Code games. The tryout is 4 states away. I understand the Area Code games are a pretty big deal, but if someone can help me with the process, I will be grateful. Will there be a mid-Atlantic tryout of some type, or is this the one and only shot he gets? Thanks.

you are supposed to accept this invitation

I don't know if I would go so far to say you are "SUPPOSED TO ACCEPT" the invite but it is quite an honor to be invited to the Area Code tryouts and the games. Yes, some players can bypass the tryouts or at least they did in the past. I know in my son's case he was invited to the tryouts and we had to decline because we had not budgeted the travel expense for the tryouts or the games. The scout said he could bypass the tryouts and go directly to the games but we passed on the games too since he wanted to stay in the Southeastern Conference and felt as if he had gotten sufficent exposure.
