The Washington Nationals who have a team in the Area Code Games every August now will draw their team from Virginia,N and S Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tenn. The Area Code Games is one of the largest events in the country, held in Long Beach, Ca. There will be a tryout in the Virginia Beach area on June 11, it is invitation only, players can submit a player profile on the Area Code Games website (google area code games) or to jimmy.gonzales@nationals.com to get a possible invite to the tryout. There is no cost if you are invited to attend.

An interesting facet of this is that East Coast Pro is doing tryouts this year, and they are the Sunday of the same weekend as the Area Code tryout.

Some players could probably do both, but I wouldn't want any pitchers to try to go 100% on back to back days.

I'd be interested in hearing from others as to what they would do, or actually plan to do, if they face that situation.

Given that ECP is the more entrenched event in our area, I would think that would take priority for those unable to do both. In turn, that might open up some slots at AC's tryouts for people who are not invited to ECP's tryout.
Hey Midlo...

Yeah, we made the decision to go to the ECP tryout on Monday in NC, rather than the Area Code on Sat. in VA. As a pitcher, we just couldn't do both. And honestly, we just couldn't afford the travel, as they start driving for Ft. Meyers on Tuesday for National Showcase and I will fly down on Thursday night after work.
