mlb97 - what's the age limit?

Area code games for this year will be 2012 grads with the occasional 2013 thrown in as well.

Sorry, I wasn't saying that my son is going. I was trying to mimic the first 3 words of all the emails he will get.

An interesting facet of this is that East Coast Pro is doing tryouts this year, and they are the Sunday of the same weekend as the Area Code tryout.

Some players could probably do both, but I wouldn't want any pitchers to try to go 100% on back to back days.

I'd be interested in hearing from others as to what they would do, or actually plan to do, if they face that situation.

Given that ECP is the more entrenched event in our area, I would think that would take priority for those unable to do both. In turn, that might open up some slots at AC's tryouts for people who are not invited to ECP's tryout.

Yeah, we made the decision to go to the ECP tryout on Monday in NC, rather than the Area Code on Sat. in VA. As a pitcher, we just couldn't do both. And honestly, we just couldn't afford the travel, as they start driving for Ft. Meyers on Tuesday for National Showcase and I will fly down on Thursday night after work.

Around here, school is still in session that Monday. PG National is so hard to get into that not many are already out to commit to that.

I guess they must get out of school sooner down in NC!

And granted most teams will be done, but the VA State Championship is on the 11th...not necessarily the best scheduling!

Typically, how long does the ECP or the AC try-out last? All day, half day? I would imagine it would depend on the number of players as well, but a rough idea would be helpful.

Do you think a player could/should do both the ECP and AC events in August if trying out for both? They do not overlap ECP 1-4 and AC 5 - 10 though on separate coasts....

If he is good enough to make both, yes...he should go to both.
