For the benefit of the parents and players with a decision to make in the next few months, please read the facts which I have formulated from the Area Code rosters since 1987 to 2000.

In the 14 year period, the pro scouts and myself invited to the Area Code games 3,575
players, 212 of whom have earned a roster position on a Major League roster.
This is less than 7%.

With our International Teams traveling to or hosting Japan, China, Korea and Australia, we have 155 players playing in the Major Leagues.

Bob,

My son played in the Area Code games last year for the Texas Rangers team. It was a well run, exciting and a first class event!My son treasures that time and the kids he met.The kids he played against were top notch.From a parents point of view what a fabulous event, with seas of stalkers and college coaches galore!Best of Luck in future games!!!

If you can get there,GO!!

Catcherdad and Wavehog;

Last year was my final year [1987-2004] for the Area Code games. Student Sports, a media
publication will now operate the games and tryouts.

Robert, my son and I will focus our baseball
events on the International arena. We have journey's planned for China in June and August [15th year] and again to Australia [11th year] next December.

Dave LaRoche and Adam LaRoche [Braves] will be our father and son coaching team.

We are planning a 'under 21' age team to Australia in December 2005.

My son had the opportunity to travel with Mr. Williams and play for his Expos 16U team in Australia during Christmas time, and loved every minute of it. What a super two weeks, baseball all the time, got to meet life long friends, and stayed with a super host family that he still remains in contact with to this day. Parents if you could send your sons to one event, I would certainly pick this one. I will always be grateful to Bob Williams, Delmon Young, and other coaches. My son left for Austrailia a boy, and came back a man. What a great experience for him.

Thank you for the kind words. Since 1983, we have a single objective for our International players to provide an opportunity for the individual player to obtain maturity and respect for the game and for himself.

The National and State Teams of Australia, Korea, China and Japan provide the environment to "test" our American players in a competitive situations.

December, we will again return to Australia for two weeks and next June we will travel to Japan for Goodwill Series XV. A special type of player will be selected for the American Team.
