Not a tryout, just instructional.  Not sure if that will get you a bid to the actual tryouts. If your kid has the ability,  his coach/travel org should know the local scouts in your area who can give a rec for the tryouts. I know  of a kid who skipped the tryouts and went straight to the team but that kid was a no brainer imo.

This event is run by Student Sports, which is a sports marketing firm.

The cost is $150 and there may be a video opportunity for a separate “discounted cost.” You will also receive a scorecard of ability from the MLB Scouts (which is always valuable for future marketing and personal knowledge).

It’s never a bad thing to be seen by scouts, if Johnny is a potential high draft (5-10). Generally, players at that level would/should have been seen if they are older.

Hint: This event is open to middle-schoolers as well. This sounds like a decently priced camp.

If I lived in PA, I would go to a Phillies Open Tryout and hope for a direct referral to the AC team , which is partially run by the Phillies.

Good Luck
