Hi all: My son, Braden Degamo who is a catcher for Mariner High School in Everett, WA recently got invited to the Area Code tryouts here in Washington State and I was wondering if this a good thing to go to. I have heard good and bad about it. Being new to the process it is hard to figure out what is what. Need some opinions.
Have a wonderful day

Based on the attention my 04 received a couple of years ago, this is a must attend. My son did not make the final cut, went through 2 tryout sesions, but the amount of mail and phone calls he received was worth it. Both tryouts had more than 50 scouts or coaches, bith college and professional. He received 3 offers from D1 schools, unfortunately, his grades did not meet the standards. Still playing at a JC level and working on the grades

Make sure that your son goes to the tryout. In your area, it is the most important tryout he will attend while in High School.
