RHP05Parent provided you a great link to answer your questions.

A step further is to look at the top of the message board page and click on:
Tournaments & Showcases - then scroll down to International Baseball Academy by RCW.

Mr. Bob Williams was the founder of Area Code Baseball and is one of the most knowledgeable and respected baseball vip's to be found...anywhere!!

We have met Mr. Williams through the years and our son travelled with his Goodwill Series teams to Australia and competed during the annual Area Code Games team tryouts, which is by invitation only. His son Rob Williams, a true gentleman as well, is a professional scout and a coach on one of the Area Code International teams that travels to China and Australia.

This is a unique and special opportunity for any player whom has the desire and hunger to be trained by professional coaches and play with some of the best kids in the game today.

Good luck !

MWR-VA;

Thank you for the kind words. Robert and I appreciate the friendships generated from the
many years of Area Code events.

For the 1st time in 19 years, Rob and I will will be absent from the Area Code tryouts and the games.

When I returned from our recent outstanding and most enjoyable trip to Australia, a new hip joint was placed in my right leg. After three weeks of rehab, I am ready to "run again" and analyze hitters swings and player's "make up".

If you have interest in our travel teams to Japan, China or Australia or the Baseball Academy. You may access our web site <www.goodwillseries>, complete the player profile and I will forward to the pro scouts for their evaluation.
1. Can a player learn to read the bat?
2. What is the difference between International Baseball and American Baseball?

Bob Williams
Lefty Catcher. Here is what we understand. Our son went to the camp the day before last years tryouts as a junior who just completed his sophomore year. Alot attend the camp, roughly about 50 or 60. Like RHP05 says, some get invited to the tryouts, most do not. The tryouts are the day after the camp. There are two I know of in Cal. One this year at University of Pacific, and the other is at Loyola Marymount University. Once the tryouts are completed, they will ask you to attend another tryout, if you are selected (last one), once that tryout is completed, the final
team(s) are selected. If you are invited to the tryouts, you do not have to attend the camp, or you can do both. Entirely up to you. We went down to watch the Area Code games last year even though our son was not selected, and had a blast. A tremendous amount of talent, and the quality is second to none. Our son will try again this year, and we will see how it goes. Take care and good luck.
