SPYvSPYjr (2017) received an invitation to the AC tryouts and, of course we will be attending come hell or high water. Question is, does simply receiving the invitation and attending merit mention on his baseball resume?

Yes.
But 'resumes' don't get you much. Its more about coaches seeing your son play. Whats important is that its a venue (even the tryouts) attended by lots of coaches.
Your son should include it on a schedule of his events (along with his HS and summer schedule) that he shares with colleges.
My son's resume is weak if you're talking about showcases, tournament wins, invites or attendance in all the high profile events etc. If his D1 college baseball scholarship was predicated on a resume, he would be screwed. Enjoy the showcase, congrats on the invite and i hope he has fun and does well.
I think it increases your "resume" but doesn't do anything in terms of actually making a deal with a school. I think if you are trying to newly introduce yourself to a new program, an AC invite is a pretty good indicator to a recruting coach that there may be talent worth looking at. In other words, I think it's an assist in getting the attention of a school to respond to your inquiry into their program.
By "resume" I mean should I include it somewhere in his Fieldlevel or BeRecruited profiles? Or is it bad form to say anything if you're not actually picked for the team? Frankly, we feel like it's an honor just to be invited and I kinda want to brag about it a little
