im sorry but i have to vent.
MY COACH IS AN IDIOT
ive done everything i can to start on varsity this year, i am a 2006 graduate and i was on varsity last year but hardly got any plaing time. This year i see A sophomore batting .137 starting over me at third and someone batting .182 who starts over me at first who got cut from the summer team i will be playing for this summer. Ive done everthing ive been asked to i started the season at 3rd then he asked me to move to 1st then back to 3rd then catcher then 1st again and finaly back to 3rd. I had no problem changing positions for the better of the team but is seems like he was doing this to KEEP me from playing. On top of this all he plays extreme favorites, our SS has been quoted several times saying "F*CK this team, i dont need anyone here to get me to college" and other things that has greatly pissed of me and my teammates. Atleast in the beggining of the season i got some playing time but for about 2 weeks i havent seen any action till the 7th inning where i go in to pinch hit(without my coach telling me till i am up) im tired of all this, i feel like ive done everything i could do to start, but i have constantly been ignored by my coach. i dont know what to do at this point because we only have 3 weeks left in the season, and i feel like im not going to get any better with this team, but on the other hand im not a quitter and wouldnt go there unless there was any other option. but mostly of all im frustreated

If you do talk to the coach, tone it down a few notches.

You may not like what he is doing, but he is the coach and has earned the right to be treated with respect.

I know that you are venting here, and that is fine, but be respectful when you talk with the coaches and be respectdul when making your case why you should be playing more. DO NOT TRASH YOUR TEAM MATES!

Your situation is not unique, I have seen it on here before as well as heard about it from other players.

You have several options, first one is to talk the coach one on one, no one else around, man to man and be honest and civil with him and ask him to be honest with you.

Sometimes there are personality conflicts or maybe you said something about the team or coach to someone who ratted you out, or maybe you did not say anything and your non-verbal actions did the talking for you.

There are 9 starters, not everyone can start. As long as you hustle, do the best you can do, and keep a positive attitude you will know you have done your part and hopefully the coach will notice. It's getting late in the HS season, so I don't know if it will work out for you this year or not.

There are a lot of unknowns, like what does the other players think about you?, what did you do last year and the year before?, how do you conduct yourself at practice and in games? Can you play ? How long has the coach been there, what's his record ? There are just a lot of varibles.

Good luck and never give up, just work harder and put a smile on.
