They will be well coached.

Their lineup will be solid. It will feature Jonathan Moore, C (his father is Jackie Moore former MLB manager and current Round Rock Express manager), Garrett Buechele, 3B (son of former Ranger Steve Buechele) and at SS the son of Curtis Wilkerson.

Their pitching will be solid, nobody throwing 90 or anything, but guys with good stuff and throw lots of strikes.

They have a few other returning starter and will challenge for a playoff spot.
My son robbed Garrett of a few hits last summer in a game in Oklahoma and the kid was just a class act -- rather than express frustration outwardly, he complimented PantherSon. He and his family are fine examples. I watched Steve throw BP and he just seems like a very genuine guy. I can see he's gone a great job with his son. I imagine Coach V (and most other coaches) wish they were able to teach how to properly channel set backs in the same way. Granted, I only saw the team play once (so the assessment may not be fair) but there were alot of bats being throw by a few other kids. Smile PantherSon has a lot to learn in that area as well -- he may not throw bats, but he allows poor at bats or errors or whatever to impact his next opportunity.

I hope good things happen for Garrett this year -- is he an '07?

Yeah, he's an '08. Garrett's one of those that doesn't let much bother him. Last summer he would keep the guys in the dugout in stitches with his jokes and one liners.

And what can you say about his dad? One of my all time favorite players, and it turns out, he's a heck of a guy. Told some stories around a picnic table at OU one night that had a bunch of us laughing for hours. He and his wife Nancy are class people.

Coach V -- I wish I knew, we could make a fortune on the formula. I think you know my comment wasn't a reflection on you....or even on the kids....all teams have the same challenge at that age....then, one day, something clicks. It happened for my middle son between his SO and JR years. My youngest is improving. Yes, it's about testosterone....and their competitive spirits....and being accountable for their actions....etc. Oops, I'm wayyyyyyyy off topic. Come and see East play, Coach V, and I'll buy your dinner (concession food). Smile
