Don't want to down grade any college program, but here is the pitch counts for a very recent college game in Missouri. (In state battle ended up 9 to 5) Winning pitcher went all 9 innings.

Losing team used 5 pitchers. There pitch counts were, 58, 23, 52, 18, 15.

Winning Team Pitcher gave up 8 hits, 7 BB, 1 HBP and had 5 Ks in 9 innings, there were a couple errors too. - Pitchers Pitch Count 193
Winning team was ahead 9-3 entering the 7th.

I posted this a few days ago.
The winning team threw their ace, who was supposed to have started this past weekend but did not. It was a rival midweek game.
Some team sites post pitch counts after each game, some do not. I think it should be mandatory by the NCAA to have each pitchers pitch counts posted after every game. This kind of gives recruits an idea of what goes on at each school.

WOW, A pitch count of 193 is beyond stupid, beyond irresponsible, IT’S ABUSIVE… if true (and I have no reason to doubt PGStaff). Where are the parents/guardians? Who’s looking out for this young man? Please someone get him Dr. Andrews' phone and address, sure does sound like he’s gonna need it down the road…

Good story but here's something else to think about. How many pitches are curves or off speed. You can have a horse on the mound that just throws fastballs and change ups and doesn't do the damage on his arm that the next pitcher that mostley curve balls. Their was allot of posts to another topic of coaches calling pitches. This will blend in good with that topic of coaches calling a mess of curves and getting the pitch counts high. Or on the same line calling the proper number of pitches to each different pitcher. I see allot of pitchers with high numbers but mostly fastballs and the are tired afterwords but not sore. I quess it's up to the pitching coaches and the pitchers to know when the right number is set and know when enough is enough.
