I hope as the State realignemnt takes hold that dates for games open up so there can be more out of district games played and more against the private schools as well.  If the districts align along D6 and D5 for Home and Home with 1 game against the other group it might open 4 or 5 dates on everyones schedule.

Might be too much to hope for but it would be fun.

It is very strange to me that all of the people who doubted Atlantic Shores baseball have all disappeared from this forum. IMHO.....Atlantic Shores has shown that they wouldn't be middle of the pack in the Beach or bottom of the SED.  I also think they proved that the stats aren't "inflated" since they had 10 hits against a great team.

Atlantic Shores pitcher did an excellent job last night and deserves a ton of credit.  The Shores hitters were aggressive and put the ball in play all night.  As i have said before, Shores is a quality team with quality players and coaches and last night they proved it at ODU.  Last night they were better than Kellam ! Shores would do well year in and year out in ANY district.

I haven't seen it, but if someone wrote that Atlantic Shores would finish at the bottom of the SED they're either not watching the SED this year or are in complete denial. The SED is 4 teams deep with Great Bridge comfortably better than the other 3.  None of the remaining 6 teams have mustered a win from one through four and the bottom third has scraped together 7 total wins.  Not exactly a powerhouse district from top to bottom.

Go Dawgs....look at Beach District Games (April15-19).....for some reason the thread was hijacked with a discussion about AS being over rated and the stats being inflated and the only player good enough to make a public school team is Sergent. The players wanted one shot to silence the doubters and by playing Kellam hard (win or lose) they did what they set out to do.

There were perhaps 2 folks on that thread that said AS was not as good as you thought.  Not necessarily a majority of the local baseball community.  Perhaps their silence is answer enough?  Not sure what you were looking for from them.  I think the game results spoke loudly enough.

go heels that div 1  all sounds good and deep down i hope it works for the kids, but alot of these kids will never see the field at the top acc/sec schools fields except Connor Jones and Charlie Cody.  As far as atlantic shores it starts w/ their coach agreste who is excellent w/ the kids and they have a strong foundation starting w/ catcher ray p. who was the drillers starting catcher, solid shortstop and second base man and strong when jordan is in centerfield.

As far as the sed in my opinion they would finish in second behind great bridge because of there depth that have on their team
