The heckling/negative "drops" we can all do with out but a well timed humorous drop can releive a tense moment and add to the environment. I would rather have a lively festive announcer and environment than a not so lively and festive one. Walk up music is fine as well.
Maybe some of these PA guys must really want to be a board op for the The Ticket (1310). Maybe I should be a PA guy, I have a computer full of drops. Any openings out there?
We welcome volunteers at Plano East. I have to confess that last night, I had possibily the most boring performance of my illustrious 7-year career as PantherAnnouncerMan.
I just wish the PA announcer at Mesquite Poteet would play something other than that "hick" music they always play. Not everyone from Mesquite is a "redneck"!
What bothers me most is when they speak in a loud, excited voice about the home team then soft & monotone about the visitors. I guess I'm oldschool, but to me it's a sportsmanship issue.

You would be surprised. Just step up to the mike. Rather than stand on the sidelines, take an at bat.

Oh please... That's part of home field advantage.. What do you want them to do , give you some walk up music as the visitor??? GET OVER IT!

THANK YOU!
Let's move away from the PA announcer and focus on dog-piling the Booster Club President or the gang that prepares the concessions on game-day. Fair is fair. JAFO, can you lead the charge?

Jewels you are so right. Lets get some rock into the rotation please, Poteet. Not everyone here has a horse or even goes to that dang rodeo. I may have to start bringing my IPOD to the PHS games

Classic rock would be best, of course... for the parents at least.
We had an announcer (great guy... great job) whose only downside was playing Mr. Bojangles during the game. You know the song... it had the lyrics below:
The dog up and died he up and died
after 20 years he still grieves
By the time the song was over, I was always slightly depressed (even if we were winning). SO... maybe country isn't that bad!
Momandcpa that just makes me sad....
Maybe the PA guy was a bit depressed because he no longer had a "dog in the fight".............
Hey, I am not a country music lover but it beats the rap music,,,,,,,give me good old Rock and Roll......
for Momandcpa 7 and couting.........

Nahh, I kinda like the dogpile. I will moderate it though......lmao
Lets just don't let our boys pick the music please
It's bad stuff, ain't it.
During District - we play every team twice - home and away .. if the PA guy at their field totally disrespected our team ...
Should it be done when they play at our field?
Should it be done when they play at our field?
Kill them with kindness..
But, then again it's your house.
