Actually, most "short season" leagues are not over. Penn League, Pioneer League, Appalachian League, Northwest League...those are the considered Short A Leagues. Austin was playing in the Gulf Coast League which is considered a rookie league.

Lakeland is in the Florida State league which is and Advanced A club for most teams.

Definately a move in the right direction.
