pop time = 2.0-2.2
home to 1st = ~4.0

Thanks for the reply.... 4.0 sounds about right to me for H/1st but 2.0/2.2 sounds quick to me for the Pop Time, how did you arrive at that number?

I timed my 10U's at the 50/70 distances. They all threw 2.05-2.3. They also ran 3.0-3.6 from 1b to 2b with a lead.

Your guys are pretty quick... this is from a Post on another Baseball Site.

"Last season, I collected 186 pop times of 33 catchers from USSSA tournament teams along Colorado’s Front Range (Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo). These catchers were 12yo league age and playing with AAA and Majors teams. The pop times are from 70’ diamonds (99’ home to 2B). The pop times ranged 2.17 to 3.0 and averaged 2.56. The best averaged 2.33-2.47."

Or the other kids are slow.

Our worst time for our catchers was 2.65 and he slipped.

I can't even imagine a 2.56 average. Most pitchers I have seen throw a 1.4 home from 50'. Kids can steal all day from ~ 65' in ~4 seconds.
