Babe Ruth Regional Showcase

My ex-wife got a call last night about a showcase Babe ruth is running in Quincy, MA for the Northeast region. I assume they got my son's name off of the all-star rosters from last year as a couple of his teammates have also received the phone call.

Anyone ever gone to one of these? Are they worth it, especially if son is just a 15 yr old freshman? The only real benefit I can see is his getting an idea of what a showcase is?

Coaches from BC, UConn, UMass & Northeastern are suppose to be in attendance. Those are some of the D1 programs in New England anyways.

We got a call from I assume the same or similar organization- name acquired the same way, ties to Babe Ruth, coaches from DC, Virginia, Maryland area- for my U13 7th grader. IMO it's too soon for us but those with kids going into high school had some different viewpoints.

It was presented to me, in the U13 world, as a chance to experience a showcase and learn what coaches are looking for as a kid goes through the process. We feel that if he continues to develop we'll have time for that later. Again just the U13 7th grade perspective.
