At 12:30 p.m., Our lebanon 8th grade team left to go to Lee,VA to play a double header versus their JV team. We got there around 2:30 and played our first game at 3. We had a lead of 4 to nothing going into the 3rd inning in the freezing cold and snowy weather. At one point during this inning I literally could not see becuase of the snow in Left field. They rallied to score 10 points in this inning and ended up winning this first game 10-7. I batted 3rd and and had 2 for 4 night with a single and a double and stealing 3 bases. A good game for most people. Next game started as soon as the other ended. This game I also batted 3rd and we also lost, 9-10. I went 0 for 1, with 3 walks and one strike out. The strike out, unfortunately, came at the worse point in the game. We rallied in the last inning and closed the game to one point. 2 outs, runner on third. I'm up to bat. Strike out ending the game 9-10 Lee. In the 10 years I have played any sport, this is the first time I have EVER gotten emotional after a game. It really hurt me and made me feel like I let the team down. Everyone on the team was behind me all the way. I just really wish it could've ended differently.

P.S. I played all of both games, first time I have ever done that in HS ball.

You have to be selling yourself short here! Playing in freezing conditions, snow, white outs?! PLAAEEEEZZZZ -
You guys are already willing to do more than most. Keep your head up, you can't do it all everyday.
I am proud of you guys being out there just trying to play a game in those conditions.

It is not to say that in NorCal we have beautiful weather all spring, but we don't have snow, so we appreciated what you are dealing with. Last year both my sons JV & V pitched complete games in pouring rain. Could never figure out why the umpries didn't call the game - but they didn't - guess it was such a rainy season, that they felt games were never going to get made up - was not pretty, but of course in the bottom of the 7th - the rain stopped.

I am always amazed at what you young guys can do in bad weather - you all seem to be impervious and still play at a high level. Most of us adults would pack it in.

Keep your head up, just think, you guys will not take weather for granted, you have had to adjust your game, which ultimately makes you better, rightSmile

Hang in there- you sound like a committed player with passion for the game. Remember, every little bit of adversity that you experience, and how you deal with it, makes you soooooooo much better in the course of your career - sometimes, one snowflake at a timeSmile
