If you fail to see the difference, then I am a bit confused exactly what the role of moderators on this site is?

Contrary to what you may perceive, I do understand that everyone will not agree on techniques; what I do not understand is why we must resort to sarcasm and insults so often when we find ourselves in disagreement - especially in a "moderated" forum, and by the very people charged with moderating.

If folks want to disparage the coaching community in order to further their own beliefs, then there will always be people like me who will respond in kind (of course - without objectionable language.)

Perhaps I should withdraw my name from the list of possible moderators in the Pre-HS forum though if the only "moderation" desired out here is to remove profanity and censor out words like s-e-t-p-ro (and whatever else has rubbed someone the wrong way in the past)? I had thought though - evidently incorrectly, as people seem to want to rip each other personally - that moderators would attempt to keep the discussions friendly (as well as lively and confrontational when ideas collide), but not allow obvious crossings of the civility/personal line.

Though I am certainly not a moderator, in my best effort to try to determine where did this thread take a turn for the worse, I believe it to be right about here?

As you said Its, back in November, in the thread on Mantle's swing:
There are over 3200 members of this great site. I would say that 99.9% present their ideas and ask their questions in a manner that is appropiate to civil discourse.

They disagree, they question each other - and they help each other - but almost all of them do not insult and denigrate each other based on their opinions.

Now, in this new thread, though I realize you are simply defending DocBall's attack on BlueDog's credentials (yet another truly "wonderful" topic!), how does your recent statement of So many bad coaches - thank god we have you to save us all. in any way resemble being appropiate to civil discourse? Isn't it much closer to ...insult and denigrate each other based on their opinions?

I certainly could care less what type of person you are or how you choose to conduct yourself among people; I leave that task to your parents. But for you to call yourself a "moderator", then treat people like this, IMO, sends a mighty mixed message.

FWIW, I do not know BlueDog from a hole in the wall. I am being objective here. Are you?
