Balk in Miami Arizona game

Arizona man on 1st with 1st baseman playing behind the runner. Miami pitcher wheels to throw to 1st but 1st baseman is 10 feet away from the bag. The pitcher throws the ball right at 1st base and hits the runner who was diving back to the bag. The ball hit the runner and died right at 1st base. The throw was right on the bag but the umpire called a balk. I had the volume down and did not hear any explanation for the call. Anyone have any insight into this play?

I saw it with no sound also but I think he hesitated before he threw it.

I think LSU game today? 1st to 3rd move balked, looked like a good call, RHed F1, cleary started home before stepping to third.
