One more anomaly occurred during the same game.
The pitcher trying to pick off our runner on second(R2?)spins off the rubber and throws to shortstop, who was standing next to our runner, he got back on second, but coaches felt this should have been called a balk, asked ump but he disagreed.

Who was/is right?

Thanks,
H20
P.S. this is a PONY league game.

Worked a U-14 tourny a few years back, one team ran this to perfection, twice I saw. R2, F1 spins and throws to F4 who's really not close to the bag, 8-10'. Amazing how runners will panic when they see a ball in front of them, neither time could F4 have beaten R2 too the bag, but R2's, one hesitated upon seeing F4 with the ball, the other actually broke for 3rd both were out easily.
