Bratwurst that is:

I have to say the BEST place to get a ballpark brat was at the old Milwaukee County Stadium -

home not only of the Brewers and the best brats - but also the only stadium I know of that plays "roll out the barrels" during the 7th inning stretch.

Ahh, but I am getting spring fever.

Until you have consumed a scrumptious bratwurst it is impossible to pass judgment.

Johnsonville makes a very good brat and I believe they are now available throughout the entire country.

Go buy a package, fire up the grill, steam the brats with your favorite beer with onions thrown in also. Cook them thoroughly.

Always serve the brat in a good sized, fresh bun. Add some hearty mustard and, if you wish, sauerkraut...guaranteed...heaven on earth!

Isn't that right TR?

A-Parent - I'm with you on that call. The best brats I ever had were at the old County Stadium, although I have to say that my all-time favorite was their polish 'with sauce', which I still crave to this day.

BTW, along with 'Roll out the Barrel', don't forget when Bonnie (?) Brewer swatted the umpire on the seat when the infield was being re-dragged. I've never seen that at a ballpark before or since.
Hot dogs and Brats are not even in the same family...Blasphemy from Texas!

Miller Park still serves up a mean brat...and the secret stadium sauce...WOW!

Beer Brats:

2lbs Bratwurst (Johnsonville or Usingers)
2 Whole onions sliced
1 Stick butter
2 Cans of Beer
Salt and Pepper to taste
Water to cover

Throw all the ingredients in a large pot. Bring mixture to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove pot from heat. Remove Brats from liquid. Save liquid and onion mixture. Grill brats over medium to low heat to lightly brown outside. Return brats to liquid.

Serve on a fresh bun with onions (from the liquid), brown mustard, and kraut (and stadium sauce if you can get it).

Can't wait for April 3!!!

I think there's only one stand at Minute Maid Park that offers "Brats" and I don't stand in the line, he11 I don't even eat the hotdogs there, why would I pay $4.00 for a cold wiener and a brick they call a bun? And to top it all off.... the ketchup even sucks!

But pay $5 for a flat Bud Light over any Miller product...... you betcha! Wink

Bring back Spuds MacKenzie!
