Great question Dadofa17 on the "PG Showcase Grade" post.  I don't want to hijack the thread so start a new one here.  When I look at my son's 16u team the HTs and WTs are all jacked.  I know how tall my kid is barefoot.  That's what he is rostered as, his height barefoot.  But looking at team photos as a group there's no way many of his teammates are what they report they are.  This is across many HS/AAU sports not just baseball.

So, anyone with a good answer on this?  Barefoot or Cleats???

When my son was a freshmen and at the first practice for his summer team, they had the players lining up and were measuring height against this pillar at the park.  They were all wearing their spikes.  One of the dads asked about measuring while wearing spikes.  The head of the organization said "they dont play barefoot."  It made sense to me.

I think if you fudge your height a bit, a college coach or pro scout can tell the difference when standing next to the kid

It's amazing how much wiggle room there is here both intentional and unintentional.  I remember my son went to two football camps about 2-weeks apart at the same major D-1 university.  First camp coach measured him barefoot at 6-4 and 1/4.  Two weeks later, same camp but different coach, measured him barefoot at  6-5 and 1/2.

Lot of fudge factor here, surprisingly.
