Buried in this film are various sports videos from the 1920s. The gem is the surprisingly close up base running shots from the 1925 World Series. Stolen bases. sliding home. Hurt players. President Coolidge.

Great sports action photography... Sadly it appears that light damaged the negatives.

Pie Traynor, Goose Gosling, Coveleski and several other HOFers from Pirates and Washington. Video quality is mostly terrible. But this film contains the best views of '20s base running I've seen.

By the way, too bad Walter Johnson didn't pitch in these games. (the sidewinder shown isn't Johnson)

Game looks almost exactly like a modern one.

Oddities that I spot include the baserunner taunting the opposition by hopping into third base (at 4:37). Runner hurt going into 2nd is aided by ump who pats him on the wrist a few times (at 5:44) and yanks him to his feet. (ouch!)

Video is of games 3 and 5.

What's so special is the use of a telephoto lens. Hats off to the talented cameraman who captured this action 82 years ago.
