Can anyone comment on the significance of our HS Sr. son receiving this from MLB (B.A.S.E.)? As my son was filling it out, it specifically had a box for "I agree" that showed he had already filled out the MLB Scouting Bureau Player Health History Report prior to receiving this which seemed to indicate that completing that step needed to take place before this step was able to be taken. Beside the obvious fact that there is interest by MLB in our son and speaks to his draft prospects, we were simply curious how significant this should be viewed from those who may have a better idea and who may have already gone through this on their own son's behalf and what exactly could be deduced by then coupling these two requests by MLB (the Player Health History Report and the B.A.S.E. test online) with additionally our son having received requests to fill out 9 Individual Professional Team Questionnaires and getting to experience a couple of home visits. PLEASE NOTE . . . this is not the proverbial "is it a good thing if a pro scout wants to come to our house for a home visit and what should I serve them?" or "is 75% a good baseball scholarship offer for an outfielder from an SEC school?" (thanks Cleveland Dad for those nuggets a few weeks ago . . .) but, rather, is simply an attempt to somehow discern what level of draft interest might this type of information gathering hint at . . . we know it is a positive thing in the very least and flattering to boot. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I am not quite sure what it is you are asking, to be considered for the draft those items are needed and has no significance in which order they are given.
To make things easier, your area scout tries in advance to get the necessary paperwork into MLB so that all teams can access that information.
The questionaires your son filled out was for individual teams, who may not have had that info at the time, some of this may seem redundant, but that is how big business goes about doing it's business. Wink
