Not only do I not know, but I do not want to know. Let me put it this way: Anyone doing this in search of a college scholarship is nuts. You would be bettter off by far investing the money in some sort of college fund. Then you could send the kid to school two times over.

The reason that we do this is that we love the game and what it offers to our entire family.
Jemaz,

Point well taken...we also do this for the love of the game and the wonderful family experience. As this is an anonymous forum (to some degree), I was curious as to whether we "are over the top" -- I wouldn't feel comfortable asking my friends and other parents on the team...

To second your point - anytime you provide an opportunity for your child to be involved, work towards a goal, be part of a team, fail in a safe environment and learn how to handle that failure and make adjustments - IMO you are giving him the foundation for growing up to be a well-rounded, level-headed adult who will have the coping mechanisms to deal with just about any "curve" that's every thrown his way.
