I usually tell parents and players when deciding on showcases, summer teams or other baseball related groups to ask people they know who have experience with that organization their opinion.
quote:
I don't know much about the Baseball Factory, except it helped open up a lot of doors (maybe too many) for a mediocre at best pitcher on my team.
You quote confuses me a lot. It seems like your friend had a good experience with Baseball Factory. It seems like you do not think he was good enough to go where he went to college. Understand everything is in the eyes if the beholder.
Working for Team One I might think a player is a 10th rounder. All it takes is for one scout to love that player and all of a sudden he is a first rounder. It's all a matter of opinion.
The idea of any group is to open as many doors as possible. It does not mean that a player will go to all those schools, but isn't it nice to have options.
I'd talk to your friend and ask him if he thought the Baseball Factory program he went though was worth it. Take you above comment into consideration and then decide what it can do for you.
