You can get insurance by having your club be a member of AAU. You can also, if your club plays in the American Amateur Baseball Congress (Sandy Koufax, Mickey Mantle, Connie Mack leagues) get insurance through AABC's insurance broker. Both are very affordable options.

Joining USSSA is the least expensive way to get team insurance that I know of.

I was leaning the route of USSSA as they are incredibly cheap. I believe that you don't even have to be registered in a USSSA tourney, as long as you pay the registration fee you're good to go.

I think most of the groups (AAU, USSSA, Nations) offer an insurance option, but it is in addition to the registration fee...it is also usually more expensive if you want it to cover games / tourneys that they don't sponsor...

It has been a few years since I looked at pricing for AAU, but I stopped using that because they were the most expensive.

This used to be the USSSA's insurance (looks like they changed) but you can purchase without having to be part of USSSA. It looks like the current USSSA insurance only covers USSSA events now???

Chappell Insurance

They cover all practices and activities, which included tryouts and showcases. It is not restrictive to only roster players such as AAU, AABC, and other sports insurance plans which you pay by head.

It also has the additional insured riders for fields and you can name tournaments.

If you purchase insurance through a baseball organization make sure it's good when competing in other organization's events.

I do have to say Chappell is very cheap! If they used to be affiliated with USSSA at least you know they've been around for a while.

Has anyone else used Chappell? Looks like a good option to me!
