Yeah exactly, PG.
You'd think they would have some kind of technical advisor who knew something about baseball. I've watched the show before and sometimes have found it interesting, but if they are going to be mythbusters they better not too often make such an obvious mistake of busting things that aren't myths.
the busters are entertaining & I learn alot from that show (sometimes)
btw, Sox stunned my Indians 6-4 last nite in an "overtime match"

I didn't watch show but would like to comment on sliding theory. Avoiding the tag , not only at 1st base, and breaking up the DP would be other reasons to slide. Regarding the slide to 1st base i teach runner to focus on target (front side of base) as he approaches; if he sees 1st baseman's feet coming up the line that is the cue to slide to avoid the tag. I encourage safe landing head first with palms up, fingers clenched, and arms extended. Reach for base after safe landing. I beleive reaching for the base prior to landing maybe quicker but leads to an increased risk of injury, recall Lofton with Cleveland in playoffs mid 90's. Baserunner maybe too close to 1st when recognizing the need to slide and a bent-leg slide would be more appropriate.

Well this is the guy to ask Rob...he knows it all when it comes to diving...now if you're wondering about drag I'm not sure he's an expert...
Woodrow: If you would have used a wide angle lens on your picture of Hiway 36 in Kansas you could have seen my front yard. Beautiful ain't it!

You're right TripleDad...US Rt. 36 is indeed a freakin' magnet...literally! And because of that, whenever I drive on US Rt. 36, I must always drive my '94 Porsche Seude-ster protected with ScotchGaurd. The magnetism of the highway has no effect on it
Whenever I need it detailed I just pull up to the nearest One Hour Martinizing and let them have at it.
And as you might imagine this car is equipped with a DustBuster rather than a FuzzBuster.
