Does anyone have a timeline vs year of the major baseball recruiting changes?

I believe the 25% min rule, 27 scholly’s, 35 man roster was in 2007. But I am not really sure and I am curious what were the major changes, and what year they were implemented. Curious what they were for the past 15 years ir so.

Thanks.

I BELIEVE that 2007-2008 was a transition year. Seems like they allowed 30 scholarships for a year, then dropped to 27 for 2008-2009.

In 07, I believe scholarships were reduced at the D1 level 10 percent (from 13 to 11.78) as yet another response to Title IX. Other sports were affected at that time and the other revisions you mentioned were implemented.

I believe scholarship levels were first revised and defined with the intro of Title IX in about 1979. Not sure what the number of scholarships were prior to that.

I never remember 30 scholarships, certainly not prior to 07 as it was 13 then.

The numbers seem to be a moving target. I've read documents totaling current levels at 11.78 (D1), 9 (D2), 16 (NAIA) and up to 24 (JUCO). But many on here have voiced numbers that differ from these totals.
D1 Baseball equivalencies were dropped from 13 to 11.7 (exactly a 10% reduction) in 1991.

The 25%/35 man rule was adopted effective Aug 2008, with a max of 30 players getting athletic aid.
In 2009, as planned, that was dropped to 27.

In general, you can find these dates (if not too old) in the division manuals in conjunction with searching the LSDBi database for the proposals that changed the rules. You won't find stuff much earlier than 2000 or so.
