The Baseball Rules Seminar is modeled after on line courses offered at major colleges and universities. Using a textbook, the online MLB rules, video from actual baseball games, and an online group forum, we will explore the rules of professional baseball.

This seminar was developed by umpires Pete Reiser (Midwest Ump) and Warren Workman (Umpire-Empire) and uses a group forum to study the rules of professional baseball. We study from “The Rules of Professional Baseball: A Comprehensive Reorganization and Interpretation” by Chris Jaksa and Rick Roder (commonly known as the J/R Manual). This manual is available from the ABUA website.
