It was not too many years ago you could collide with the catcher. So was sliding to take out the fielder on a double play. Now, you must slide directly into the bag. I understand about protecting players in collision plays (Cough, cough with the exception of football), but removing the aggressiveness of sliding into a bag and breaking up a double play is altering the game in a negative way imo.
