There are 6 cues that we teach...a high school pitcher will typically fall into one of these.

1) Back Heal must lift in order to throw over.
2) Front shoulder will TUCK when going home, OPEN when throwing to first.
3) Head; If you see the back of the head with movement, he's throwing over to first(this is typically what a left handed pitcher does--look away, throw over, look at you throw home) Side of face with movement throwing home.
4) Feet width; Wider, he's throwing over. Closer together, throwing home.
5) Front foot; Open during stretch, throwing over. Closed, throwing home.
6) Rhythm; this is the most common. Pitcher will exhibit any of the tendencies in numbers 2-5. Either throwing over or going to the plate.
