I am a 10u select baseball coach - average in many ways. I am not the best, nor the worst, at coaching or most other things I do in life. I check in here every month or so to educate myself, and feel very luck to have found the site. I am a better coach because of the things I have learned here. I have learned not only rules better, I have also gained a better insight to both how umpires and fellow coaches minds work.
It has been a few months since I have checked the newest posts. I truly saddens me to read many of the newer posts - there has increasingly a bitterness undertone way to posts. There seems to be people here simply trying to settle scores, and it is harming this great site. I may not always agree with an umpires ruling or even the rule itself, but the reason for the existence of the site is to "Ask the Umpire" not 'Bash the Umpire" - start another site if that is your goal.
I hope things will turn around on their own but I doubt it. At some point, unfortunately I believe an ejection needs to be made for anyone, umpire or coach, who creates a pattern of bashing that is detrimental to the sites purpose.
