Will hitting against an Iron Mike type machine damage a new model metal bat?

If it's throwing real baseballs it easily could snap a composite bat in half and dent metal bats, but the dimple baseballs are safe for the most part.
remember most companies will not validate your warranty on metal bats if you use dimple balls.They have a way of testing them.
I wouldn't use a new bat for anything but games really. Maybe a few cuts in the cage first, but very little. Use an old bat or buy a wooden bat for cage hitting.

Um...yah, you have that backwards my friend. Its made to hit real baseballs not the dimple baseballs that are harder than the real thing.
All I know is I used to use real baseballs and broke a composite bat, Rawlings rush, then I switched to high quality yellow dimple balls and even hit with wood bats. Although the warranty doesn't cover yellow dimple balls... on the other hand a composite bat has to be broken in by hitting real baseballs, so I've heard.
