Looking for good BP songs. I have my old standards, but the kids are getting bored with them so I thought I would try to jazz it up a bit. Only problem is, I have no idea what anyone listens to now (I am a Ticket listener).

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks

A few years ago I was working with a TCL team and it was opening night in our first season. A week earlier I asked the boys what they would like their walk up music to be...

Louie Alamia wanted Louie, Louie...no problem
Jose Salazar wanted a catchy latin tune...no problem
Trey Rachal wanted some Lynard Skynard...no problem

Four hole hitter (who will remain nameless) wanted some Tupac Shakur rap tune...I didnt check the words but the music was cool...

"Batting fourth, the designated hitter, from xyz college, nameless guy"...cue music...blank this, blank that, MF this, and GD, and *** and the bleachers went dead silent...

Moral is to check the words to the music, unlike the ol Catcher... Have fun with it. I like it when the HS's make it fun on and off the field.

Finally, something I can actually respond to...

I have this job for a local high school and I ask the boys every year for a selection of music that they want to hear for warm ups. Because I made the EXACT same mistake Catcher did, the next thing I do is pull up and read through the lyrics. If it's a good tune and there's only one or two objectionable words, I use the radio edit of the song. The parents and coaches don't much care for the pregame music, but the boys like it.
If my kid talks to me about his walk up song one more time I swear I'll have him walking to the box with Justin Bieber blaring!! If he spent as much time studying as he spends worrying about this song (which I can't even make out the words)he would be a straight A student!! ballgofar --- I feel your pain as we have the same issues. As far music between innings, I'm partial to Trace Adkins, "Swing".
I am about to begin playing music for our squad using my nano. I created a baseball play list and made sure I listened to the songs before inclusion.
I've come up with 20 songs. I would assume during an inning break, you can get in 1.5 to 2 songs total, as long as the songs are about 3 minutes per tune. I've planned for 1 song current main stream pop, rock or country and the other will be 80's tunage. Is 20 enough? Talk of "walk up" music has not happen, yet.

You should plan on no more than a max of 2min between innings and if the umpire is doing his job it should be a lot closer to 1 min... if you add 2 min for every 1/2 inning that is an extra 30 mins to the game... we shoot for 1 min.. usually takes about 1 1/2 mins
