For those of you who have been Emailing... the long awaited Battle of the Brothers begins this Friday in Millington, TN.

Air Force plays Navy at the All Service Academies Tournament, and for the first time ever, in any sport... cadKID#1 (AF/1B) plays against his little brother, cadKID#2 (Navy/SS).

To add a little drama to the whole story, the pitchers at AF have said that cadKID#2 will get on... it's just gonna' hurt... and over in the other locker room in Annapolis, there's a kid ranked #17 in the country as a pitcher (Clemens Watch List, as well as several others) who gave up only one HR all last year... you got it, to cadKID#1.

Someone asked me the other day how it feels. Gentlemen (and yes Moms)... all I can say is there are no words in the English language....

I hope all of you are having as much fun as...

cadDAD !!!!!

Having two sons play HS Varsity football together at the same time, on the same team, about did me in.

Can't imagine the excitement of having two sons playing 1.) against one another and 2.) at the college level. That makes my jaw drop!

I sure hope you are having someone tape the game so that you can re-watch every single play,..backwards and forwards,...and have as a momento for years to come. Something to show the grandkids one day!

OUTSTANDING!!!

I'm eating tums for ya cadDad,..and sending you the double thumbs up!!!
.

Thanks 44, and all of you new friends. Not much sleep this week with media calling every day. Local, as well as Denver Post, and ESPN, and AP.

cadKID#2 had a bad outing this past weekend... 0'fer on Sunday... and got called into Coach's office after Monday workout... he thought for sure he was going to be told... "well, kid, we gave you a chance, and now it's time to sit while an Upper takes over... we'll look at you again in a couple of weeks (or never)..." What am I gonna' tell my Dad? I gotta' sit for Battle of the Brothers?

But no... Coach says "stop beating yourself up... we think you're doing better than we expected you to do all season... Have some fun... it's why they call it a game..."

Result.... today, 3 for 4, 3RBI's, and ready for this one EH/44/Tom?... A STOLEN BASE!!! A Bolt kid with a stolen base! Finally unhooked the boat trailer, and embarrassed the bad guys.... I'd say good coaching.... Motivate a kid with positive reinforcement... what a thought.....

Again, thanks everyone for all the kudos. To see results on Friday, go to:

One game Friday, one game Saturday.

Still Learning Reporting from the Service Acadamies Classic Tournament.

Ladies you know you shouldn't blindly trust photos posted on websites so I went to the Tournament to verify the authenticity of the above posted photo and check out the Bolt Brothers in person and just as I suspected the photo was inaccurate.....they're even better looking in person! Big Grin I even had a chance to speak to Kendall and Cad Dad! Ya never now when a HSBWebster might "pop up"!

Actually, I went to watch the University of Memphis beat Missouri and win the Tournament. Yeah!!! (Sorry Cad Dad)

GO TIGERS!!!!!

New friends...

Thought I would take a minute and try to express our thanks to all of you for what ended up being one of the most exciting weekends Becky and I have experienced... ever. From all your notes, to even having people come up to us at the games, and to watch these "two little boys of ours" play, interact with each other's teams, to how much they admire and love each other, was just overwhelming.

Were they the stars of the games? Did they impress every scout there? Did time stand still by their "very presence"? Not by a long shot... but in the tearfilled eyes of their MOM (Dads can't admit that) and Dad, they are the center of the Universe, and the real reason that Becky and I met on a blind date 25 years ago.

I hope each and every one of you on this Board... stop and hug your kid today... stop and call your Mom today... and be thankful that there is PURPOSE for all of this around us.

Very well said cadDAD...we've got one son injured now and struggling with it and another trying to heal up from yet another surgery. They know we love 'em. It helps.

...and you're right: "Dad's can't admit that"...but your finger knows the game...your finger is your ally...whatever the reason...joy or sadness...the drops come...you can feel them coursing upward well before they introduce themselves publicly... with that quick, hopefully undetected and incognito swipe of your finger, ushering the salty drops which just won't restrain themselves, to the safe, open, expanse of your emotion etched cheeks...cheeks where you are hoping that your warmth, combined with the weather, will quickly remove any emotional evidence of those drops that seldom are coaxed to the surface.

Not unlike a rain deprived desert that beautifully blooms with signs of colorful life when the drops fall from above, life that is absolutely necessary for the desert's survival, so too are us dads. We toil away day to day with not much in the way of outward signs indicating what we are feeling, but then along comes that moment...that undeniable moment...that brings the ultimate sign of life to our face...and almost as quickly as it came it is gone...the remnants evaporating into the atmosphere...perhaps forming into raindrops that may eventually fall on a far away desert that is anxiously awaiting the life sustaining drops from above.

And that's another reason why we don't wear mascara.

"I'm a little verklempt… Talk amongst yourselves… I'll give you a topic…. BOLT... is neither a metal rod or pin for fastening objects together... nor a lightning stroke… Discuss…"

Great story... only in America! The popping sounds I heard this weekend must have been Paul & Becky's (highly polished brass) buttons.

The line I liked was....

All I could think of was a military type, in a diaper, on her way to Florida, to carry out her self imposed mission...

Ahhhh, fantasies.....

A couple is lying in bed. The man says,

"I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world."

The woman replies, "I'll miss you..."
