Battlefield District 5 Teams still have a shot at Title

i can't believe that battlefield still only does the top 4 teams go to the end of the year district tournament. Also it is a shame that this district will only send two teams to regionals.

The way I figure it Courtland and Chancellor are pretty much locked in. KG, Caroline and EV are battling for the remaining two positions. It could get interesting. Still a lot of ifs. Three wins by any one of those gets them in, otherwise it may come down to the tiebreaker.

I don't know about you guys but i am actually enjoying the fact that it will be until possibly the last game until we find out who the top 4 are. Monday will be a huge day in determining the playoffs though.

There are still a lot of what if options, which could result from these last few games. I think the following are huge games, which will impact the standings.

- Eastern View(H) vs King George (Mon)
- Chancellor(H) vs Caroline (Mon)
- Eatern View(H) vs Courtland (Tues)

I quite agree. Even with KG's win over Courtland tonight, Monday's EV vs KG game will be a deciding factor along with CH vs Caroline and EV vs Courtland.

My thoughts:

Courtland - definitely in even if they lose their remaining game with EV. Just a matter of seeding.

Chancellor - could still claim the #1 seed if they win out and Courtland loses to EV. Not sure of the tiebreaker between CT/CH since they split in head-to-head play. If Chancellor loses out (realistically I don't see that happening but you never know) they could miss the playoffs.

King George - win out and they are in. Lose to EV and they are on the bubble and will need "help".

Caroline - win out (CH/CU) and they are in. A loss to Chancellor puts them on the bubble.

Eastern View - probably has the toughest task - playing two teams (KG/CT) in the top 5 in two days.

Simply put a 10-4 record gets you in. 9-5 on the bubble and 8-6 you're pretty much going home - see ya next year.

BTW - the KG/CT game was a well fought game. KG jumped out to a 3-1 lead. Courtland scored 4 in the 4th to take the lead 4-3. After a defensive 5th inning by both teams, KG surged ahead 6-4 scoring 3 runs on timingly hitting and errors.

Anyone know why the JM vs Chancellor game was postponed? Field conditions? Rain?

but then tuesday

Courtland beats EV
Caroline beats Culpeper
KG beats JM.

Caroline 8-5 beat EV twice
EV 8-5 beat KG twice
Caroline split with KG

Who gets the last two spots, i am hearing that who ever wins the EV and KG game monday is in and who ever loses is out, is this true. Barring this scenario happens.

'Zeus' - If there is a three way tie with King George, Eastern View and Caroline all been 8-5 based on your above scenario. King George would be out.

You have to look at the win/loss for the teams tied in their head to head matchups.

Caroline would be 3-1:
Wins against Eastern View, Eastern View and King Goerge
Losses against King George

Eastern View would be 2-2
Wins against King George, King George
Losses against Caroline, Caroline

King George would be 1-3
Wins against Caroline
Losses against Caroline, Eastern View, Eastern View

So 'Zeus' your game against King Goerge on Monday is a must win.

Good question. I believe, but am not sure, in that case it may come down to the preseason draw. But I really don't know. And I have no clue who has what number.
